Job Summary
Bharat Wire Ropes Ltd. is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Wire Drawing to manage and oversee wire drawing operations at its Chalisgaon manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, machine operations, process optimization, quality control, manpower management and ensuring smooth shop-floor operations.

- Key Responsibilities
- 1.
- Manage day-to-day wire drawing operations and ensure achievement of production targets.
- 2.
- Handle wire drawing machines, including single-block and multi-block machines.
- 3.
- Monitor the drawing process, including reduction ratio, die selection, lubrication, drawing speed and wire quality.
- 4.
- Ensure production of high-quality steel wires as per specified technical requirements.
- 5.
- Monitor machine performance, breakdowns and maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- 6.
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce rejection.
- 7.
- Ensure proper control of wire diameter, tensile strength, surface finish and mechanical properties.
- 8.
- Manage manpower, shift operations and allocate responsibilities to shop-floor teams.
- 9.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores and Production Planning departments.
- 10.
- Maintain production reports, process parameters, rejection reports and daily MIS.
- 11.
- Ensure optimum utilization of raw materials, dies, consumables and other resources.
- 12.
- Implement safety standards, 5S and continuous improvement practices on the shop floor.
What we're looking for
- Required Skills & Competencies
- - Strong experience in steel wire drawing operations.
- - Knowledge of high-carbon and low-carbon wire drawing processes.
- - Hands-on experience with wire drawing machines and equipment.
- - Knowledge of die selection, reduction schedules and lubrication systems.
- - Understanding of tensile strength, elongation, wire diameter and metallurgical properties.
- - Production planning and process optimization.
- - Manpower handling and shift management.
- - Breakdown analysis and troubleshooting.
- - Knowledge of quality standards and rejection control.
